10th October, would have been my Grandad Walts Birthday and I will never forget that day ever, another poignant event happened on the 10th too as I was contacted on Twitter by my old mate Wass aka @WassK he now lives in Beirut, Lebanon but over 30 years ago Wass & I were on the same team back in the day, Moor Celtic and one of the Mirleees pitches was our home. 30 years later Wass has just contacted me because he was at a loss he didn’t know who to turn to or talk to or get some advice, as his dad, a true gent as I recall as he and Wass’s sister Fifi used to follow us every home game and away too, you see Wass & Fifi’s dad Issem (Hope Ive spelt that right) had just suffered a stroke and after being discharged as there was no signs of a bleed or clot, Fifi was driving Issem home from SteppingHill Hospital when he had another one and Was who is over 1000 miles away contacted me for some advice guidance, pointers, whatever but if I ever ever doubt why I set this up back in the day as a blog site, the events of yesterday made it all to clear why I did. So as I was enroute to see some old work colleagues play in Steve’s annual football tournament at Poynton Leisure Centre to see Zico, Wheelers, Mike Neal, OB, Ade Cotter and a few other faces, I just had to go and see Fifi and Issem. Whilst visiting at approximately 2.30pm Issem had another Stroke and the excellent staff at SHH administered the treatment that was necessary to make Issem more comfortable, The staff at the hospital were in awe of Issem’s smile and no matter what he was enduring himself, he could not help rising a smile every now and again to those around him. Marhaba …. Keef halak Issem x Please anyone who is reading this, please join me in a special prayer to him upstairs, sir, its me you know the one that you turned away from those pearly gates 3 years ago?? Well can you please also look after Issem and tell him the same you are not ready for him yet Thank you !!!
