The first recollection I have of the beginning of January 2013 was that Wifey had to get
ongoing correspondence to my employers as sick pay was none existent, so as well as giving
copies of my sick note, it was a very much formal approach back to them as they had instigated
it that way.

December 2012
Physio continued throughout December and I really enjoyed it, focusing on my balance, my
core strength and progress being made slowly, very slowly but the main thing is that progress
was indeed being made. Christmas was nearly upon us and I wasn’t strong enough to go shopping,
furthermore I wasn’t strong enough to go the Christmas markets in Manchester which I loved.

All of a sudden my employer was on the scene wanting to have a copy of my medical records or
at least my consent to let them have access to them. Maybe I wouldn’t have been so agreeing if

Discharged from Hospital – the lovely OT (occupational therapist) visited my home to make sure
I would be able to manage at home, they were satisfied providing my wife was able to acquire a
bath seat, a walking aid, wheelchair and that my consultant would see me in a couple of weeks.
Recovery starts at home now.
