2019 – July
Its July people!! JULY already!!! how on earth did that happen?? Oh well have a great month and remember StrokeInformation is all about managing and coping with life after such a traumatic experience, June was a great Month, we met some great people and had our biggest audience to date at our drop ins (collectively), so that means that we must be doing something right. #WeCareBecauseWeveBeenThere
We have had quite a few referrals this last month too so our name is getting out there, despite the local clinical commissioning group claiming that hadn’t realised that we are a charity and again we believe that we have been overlooked by the NHS, although it also potentially questions how the service offering is selected in the first place and also if our information is actually reaching the decision makers? Whatever the outcome chosen by the commissioners, it will not restrict our service offering and makes us even more determined to change the way that our services reach those who need it. Even this very last week we were approached by a 3rd party who is kind of linked with the NHS because they were concerned over this stroke survivor who has just returned home from hospital care. I went to see them on Friday and from entering the house, the person was very frail, confused and suicidal. Within an hour, I left the stroke survivor feeling refreshed, determined to start their recovery journey and focused on the little goals I had set them which I am only able to do because I have been through what they are going through. This is not the first and certainly won’t be the last person we help #WeCareBecauseWeveBeenThere
