Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability in the UK. There are around 32,000 stroke-related deaths in England each year. Deaths related to stroke have declined by 49% in the past 15 years. This has been accredited to a combination of better prevention, earlier treatment and more advanced treatment.
Yes there are organisations out there who focus on the prevention and raising awareness of the condition is very important. However, where we differ is that everyone involved with Strokeinformation has either had a stroke or been impacted by a stroke so we would say we would know how to cope, how to manage the stroke as opposed to the stroke managing you. As we are now approaching spring and hopefully some better weather and restrictions soon to be lifted, it will give us all a chance to get back out there in the fresh air and rather than counting the days, we can make them count.
